Aboriginal Health - North Coast & Hinterland

If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Districts and you need to see a doctor, dentist, podiatrist, counsellor, physiotherapist, nutritionist/dietician or allied health worker, please contact an Approved Referrer in your local area

They will discuss with you what Service Providers are available and which area would be most suitable to your needs eg Caloundra, Maroochydore, Nambour, Gympie, Hinterland, Noosa, Rainbow Beach or Tin Can Bay etc.

You decide where you want to go and the Referrer will make a referral through NCACCH for you. If approved, NCACCH will contact the Service Provider so that you are able to proceed with your appointment.

NCACCH will then be sent the account for the service provided and we will pay that account on your behalf!

There will obviously be some limits on the amount an individual person can receive during any 12 month period.

Naturally, we cannot fund major dental work such as dentures or root canals etc.

We must only "fill the gaps" identified in Indigenous Health the best we can.
