Diabetes in Australia

Diabetes is Australia's fastest growing chronic disease. About 1.5 million Australians have diabetes, but only half of them know it. By 2010 the number of Australians with diabetes is predicted to reach 1.8 million.

Diabetes can lead to potentially lethal complications including heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. It also causes blindness, lower limb amputation and erectile dysfunction. Diabetes is too serious to ignore!

The good news is, if you maintain a healthy weight, do regular physical activity and follow a healthy eating plan you can reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by as much as 60%.

So, DON'T IGNORE DIABETES! Explore this website to find out more about diabetes and to find out whether you, your family, or friends are at risk. You can also visit the Diabetes Australia website for more information on how we can help you to reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes.

To access one of our services you may contact one of our referrers.
